3:10 to WHAT, now?

The critics love 3:10 to Yuma. My parents loved 3:10 to Yuma. Yuma, Yuma, Yuma, it is great and we much watch it.

We rented it.

Not to spoil things for those of you who haven't seen it, but...the ending just made. no. sense.

Son #2 watched it after Hubby and I finished, and he agrees. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING, with that ending?

But, hey, feel free to love it. After all, my parents and every critic on the planet thinks Hubby, Son #2, and I are morons.

I liked it but Hubby hated the ending too. I tried to explain why I thought they ended it that way...but Hubby wasn't buying it. Actually, I don't think he cared for it as a whole. Every new western that comes out he compares to Unforgiven so these new westerns don't have a prayer, pardner!

What's wrong with the ending? You knew that Christian Bale's character was going to die from the beginning.

What didn't you guys like?

I didn't mind Christian Bale's character dying...like you said, saw it coming.

What bugged me, and Hubby, and Son #2, was---why did the bad guy kill his entire crew and surrender?

WHYYYYY?

It didn't make sense.

He killed his whole crew because he knew they wouldn't let him get on the train, and he was not going to let Bale's son watch his father fail. He wanted the son to grow up respecting his father.

I think Crowe's character was finally redeemed by how selfless Bale was. Did you notice that he whistled for his horse, too? As soon as that train was out of sight, Crowe was planning on getting away.
