"What's the big deal about a speech?"

The big deal is, it is not just a speech. It is a movement by the people entrusted to educate our children...to indoctrinate them, instead.

That's a bit disturbing.

That had absolutely nothing to do with the speech to the students. That was a video from three months earlier.

There's nothing that says that was mandated or even suggested by the administration. In fact, it seems like it's something probably written by the teacher who is instructing them in the background.

Don't obfuscate facts if you're going to post something accusing our President of "indoctrinating". Did you have a problem with the commercials all over TV when Bush was our President that made the military seem like the coolest place to be?

I always ask the question, "Would you have done this for ANY president?"

If they say, "No," then we take a trip to the school board.

Most of the time the kids don't know what's going on and forget it.

However, I took issue with a teacher at my kid's school who did Kwanzaa stuff for 3 months. Really, 3 months, do we NEED that much on a made up holiday? That's where I can see it's more of a personal agenda rather than curriculum.

Yeah that's kind of disturbing, speech related or not. Then again, if it's a president who has been dead for a long time, then we're allowed to idolize them all we want, so maybe their timing's just off. :-) :-) :-) (that was a joke, btw)
