Heath Ledger and Fred Thompson

Yesterday, Heath Ledger died and Fred Thompson dropped out of the presidential primary. I have talked with a mess of people and everyone is upset about one of these events, but no one seems to be upset about both of them.

I guess my Heath-loving friends and my Thompson-loving friends have only myself in common.

I had such high expectations for Fred. I was disapointed he didn't fair to well. I guess it's the Jack Kemp Syndrome (yeah--I'm the old chick in the blogosphere).

As far as Heath Ledger, sounds like he was in a dark place and playing a dark role like Joker probably didn't help either. I do hope they find out what exactly what was the cause of his death becuase the media is just going to go crazy with all kinds of speculation and falsities if they don't.

I just read the autopsy was inconclusive. He had been reported to be an insomniac who was taking Ambien... and I know it is far too easy to accidentally take more than is good for you, especially if the recommended does doesn't work (as he claimed two didn't last week or so).

It's sad.

Fred Thompson was not one of my favorites, but I still think he should have stuck it out. So four states have voted, there are 46 more to go.

I'm off to read your archives so I can give you a really decent review (I promise I won't rip you to shreds). :-) So if you see me on there a zillion times today (in your stats), that's why.

I'm going to read all of them someday.. but I got enough for a review already. It's here if you want to see it!

Oh sure, we're all crushed about Fred and Heath...but let's not forget Allan Melvin, a.k.a. "Sam the Butcher" from the Brady Bunch...

Hmmmm....I guess I don't fit in your venn diagram of friends at all - I was only marginally aware of the first and totally ignorant of the second...oops.... Well, at least I'm not in the non-existent "upset about both" group!

That Ambien didn't work at all for me - kept me awake. So taking too much seems plausible. I mean, operating on the sum total of my knowledge of the situation, which basically includes: 1) this post and 2) the comment section of this post up to and including the second comment.
